Take a deep dive into the stories of artists we have collaborated with over the years, and see how they have continued to evolve since first working with our studios across both London and New York. These seven artists are blazing trails in their industry and pushing the boundaries of artistic expression in ways that get us all excited.
Studio Lenca
We acquired paintings by Studio Lenca for a project at Knotel’s Old Sessions House in London. Since then, Studio Lenca has had solo exhibitions at Carl Freedman Gallery and the Parrish Art Museum, as well as a studio visit with the iconic singer and songwriter Jessie Ware.
Emma Safir
We commissioned Emma Safir to create her first ever, large-scale vinyl wall installation in LinkedIn’s HQ in the Empire State Building. Since then, Emma has had solo exhibitions at Blade Study and 10D, and has participated in group exhibitions at RAINRAIN, Hesse Flatow and Jack Barrett.
Carlos Rosales-Silva
We commissioned Carlos Rosales-Silva to create a large-scale mural throughout the elevator bay of LinkedIn’s HQ in the Empire State Building. Since then, Carlos has transformed the lobby of the San Antonio Museum of Art (evolving his large-scale mural practice), and has been in residence at the Bemis Center of Contemporary Art.
Simon Benjamin
Simon Benjamin was an artist-in-residence at The Art House New York, as part of Acrylicize's collaborative residency program with Project Art Distribution (P.A.D.). He used his time with us to familiarize himself with Dumbo, where our studios are based, prior to his inclusion in the Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program. Since then, Simon has created new work for the 2023 edition of the Malta Biennale and has had a solo exhibition at Swivel Gallery.
Hettie Inniss
Hettie Inniss was an artist-in-resident at The Art House London while she was still a student at the Royal Academy of Art, making several paintings in our space. Since then, Inniss has joined the artist roster of GRIMM Gallery and is working towards her first solo exhibition there for the gallery’s London space.
Hazel O’Sullivan & Sarita Oseitutu
Hazel O’Sullivan and Sarita Oseitutu have been the inaugural artists-in-residence as part of our collaboration with Working Class Creatives Database (WCCD) at The Art House London, working together in the bay area of our studio space. The artists have collaborated on a two-person exhibition at The Art House London after realizing the similarities between their practices, which both interrogate space, the body and mythology.
